Disciples Bible is a free Bible app for reading, listening to, studying, searching, highlighting, and taking notes on Scripture. It is a web app: it runs in any modern browser on a phone, tablet, or computer, and it can be installed straight from that browser so it gets its own icon and opens in its own window. It is not on the App Store or Google Play yet. There are no ads and no tracking, an account is optional, and everything you write stays on your own device unless you choose to back it up.

What You Can Do

• Read any book, chapter, and verse in 25 public-domain and openly licensed translations (the Berean Standard Bible by default, plus the World English Bible, King James Version, American Standard Version, Young's Literal Translation, Darby, and more), with translation footnotes and cross-reference markers you can tap to open.
• Download Translations: download a whole translation in one file, with live progress, retry, and cancel, then read, search, and listen from the copy saved on your device.
• Read Aloud: play any chapter with the Berean Standard Bible's own recorded Audio Bible, a real person reading it word for word and the voice the app opens on, or with a natural synthetic voice. Speed and pitch control, a per-verse timeline, live verse highlighting, and auto-continue into the next chapter. Your device's own voices are always available.
• Study: a study workbench beside the text with what a verse means, its background, the Hebrew or Greek behind its key words, cross-references, chapter context, book overviews for all 66 books, and the same verse in every translation you have installed.
• Notes: notebooks per book with multiple pages, typed text boxes, freehand drawing on multiple layers with shaky-stroke smoothing, images, videos, and files, all autosaved and exportable.
• Highlights And Saving: tap a verse to highlight it in any color, highlight single words inside a verse, save a passage with your own note, bookmark it, or send it straight to your notes.
• Reading Plans: build a day-by-day plan of chapters or verse ranges, each day with its own reading time, and get a reminder when it is due.
• Verse Of The Day on the home screen, with an optional daily reminder at a time you choose.
• Search by reference, word, or phrase, with live results on every keystroke across one translation, all of them, or a set you pick.
• Make It Yours: themes with their own artwork, light and dark mode, a choice of app icon backgrounds, a custom color editor, your own background image, and full control over app and Scripture fonts, sizes, and line spacing.

Scripture Licensing

Disciples Bible uses public-domain translations freely: the Berean Standard Bible (the default, whose recorded Audio Bible is dedicated to the public domain too), WEB, KJV, ASV, BBE, Darby, DRA, YLT, OEB (US and Commonwealth), WEBBE, the Clementine Vulgate, Almeida, RCCV, CUV, BKR, and the Cherokee New Testament. The NIV and NASB are listed honestly as license-required, and their text is never bundled or downloaded.

Who Made It

Disciples Bible is developed by TDG, The Disciples of God: two brothers named Nate and Luke. It is free, with no ads and no account required, and it is kept running by donations.
